Joyce M. Roché brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in Corporate America.

Joyce M. Roché brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in Corporate America. She served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Carson Products Company in Savannah, Georgia, and as Vice President of Global Marketing at Avon Products, Inc. During her corporate career, Ms. Roché played a key leadership role in taking Carson Products public on two global stock exchanges and established Avon’s first global marketing organization, among many other accomplishments.

Following her corporate career, Ms. Roché transitioned to the nonprofit sector, serving for ten years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Girls Inc., a national research, education, and advocacy organization based in New York. During her tenure, she led a strategic repositioning of the organization that restored its national visibility and significantly expanded its reach and impact.

Ms. Roché has received widespread recognition for her achievements in business and leadership. She has been featured on the cover of Fortune magazine, profiled in BusinessWeek’s “How Did I Get Here,” and named by the Financial Times as an Outstanding Corporate Director, among numerous other honors.

In 2013, Ms. Roché authored The Empress Has No Clothes…Conquering Self-Doubt to Embrace Success (Berrett-Koehler). In this deeply personal memoir, she reflects on her lifelong experience with imposter syndrome and offers insights and strategies drawn from her own journey and the experiences of other accomplished leaders.

Ms. Roché currently chairs the boards of the Chatham County Hospital Authority and the World Trade Center of Savannah. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Savannah Economic Development Authority and is a board member of the Savannah Community Foundation.

Her previous board service includes AT&T Inc., Macy’s Inc., Anheuser-Busch Companies, May Department Stores, Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc., Tupperware Brands Corporation, and Girls Incorporated.

Ms. Roché is currently Executive in Residence at Columbia University Business School. She previously served as Vice Chair of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges and as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Dillard University, where she now serves as Trustee Emerita.
